About Lead Paint Index
Lead Paint Index is an independent public directory compiled by Shortell Designs. It lists laboratories and people who already appear on official EPA and Michigan lists. It is a reading of those records, not a new credential.
What this is not
- Not a laboratory and not a lead inspection, risk assessment, or abatement company.
- Published by Shortell Designs as an independent directory — not as a laboratory or contractor service.
- Not endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, HUD, MDHHS, or any state lead program.
- Not a ranking, marketplace, or referral desk. There is no paid placement on laboratory or professional lists.
- Not Exclusive Live Calls. There is no live-call page, no tracking numbers, and no click-to-call.
Where the names come from
Retrieved 2026-09-01.
- NLLAP laboratories: 107 rows (104 unique labs; 3 duplicate rows as EPA printed them) from the National Lead Laboratory Accreditation Program List, Round 131, July 2026 (month 1 of 3), last updated August 4, 2026. Company, city, phone, matrices, commercial availability, and accrediting-organization code as printed. City was split from EPA’s combined “Company Name, City & Phone” cell; the original cell is stored in the data file.
- Michigan: 25 certified lead inspectors and 193 certified lead inspector/risk assessors from MDHHS MiLeadSafe lists updated August 27, 2026. Cert #, name, firm, city, county heading, and phone as printed.
- EPA firm locator: not transcribed. It is a JavaScript search form. See Verify a pro.
No laboratory, inspector, phone number, accreditation, or certificate number was invented. Phone numbers from the official lists are republished as text only.
