When to hire vs when a kit is enough
Kits are not a clearance. Florida, Texas, and New York split assessor from remediator. Louisiana licenses remediation through a search form.
How to use these lists
- A mail-in or petri-dish kit is a sample of one surface or one air catch. It is not a mold assessment, not a scope of work, and not post-remediation clearance.
- A licensed assessor inspects, samples if needed, and writes a plan. A licensed remediator does the cleanup. In New York the same licensee cannot do both on the same project.
- Most U.S. states do not license mold. This site does not nationalize four state lists or scrape private directories.
- City is the address of record on the source list. Some licensees are based in another state.
- Always verify the license is still current with the issuing agency before hiring.
