About Wildlife Control Index
Wildlife Control Index is an independent public directory compiled by Shortell Designs. It lists people who already appear on official state license lists for commercial nuisance-wildlife work. It is a reading of those records, not a new credential and not a referral desk.
What this is not
- Not a wildlife-control or pest-control company.
- Not endorsed by the Ohio Division of Wildlife, ODNR, NYSDEC, MassWildlife, USDA Wildlife Services, or any local health department.
- Not a ranking or marketplace. There is no paid placement on the professional lists.
- Not veterinary, public-health, or legal advice.
Where the names come from
Retrieved 2026-08-30.
- Ohio (621 public listings). Transcribed from dow-list-cnwaco-current-license-holders.pdf, “Ohio Commercial Nuisance Wild Animal Control Operators Q2 2026,” updated 2026-06-30. Official PDF. ODNR notes the file is not exhaustive — only operators who asked to be listed. 603 Ohio addresses of record, 18 out of state.
- New York (1204 currently licensed). Transcribed from NYSDEC’s Open Data NY dataset 868p-5nmh (1171 general, 33 municipality). Official dataset. All licenses in this extract expire 2026-09-30.
- Massachusetts (0 names). MassWildlife’s PAC finder is a JavaScript map/list. Names were not present in the HTML. This index does not invent them.
Private directories (including WildlifeHelp.org) and trade-association rosters were not scraped.
