Idaho labs
Two paths are independently verified for private well owners through the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW): (1) Free Idaho Private Well Water Testing (Available Fall 2026) via Idaho Health Tools; (2) Idaho Bureau of Labs (IBL), listed on the DHW private-wells certified laboratories table and promoted for private-well testing / citizen-science submission. The table below lists 8 laboratories from the DHW Idaho Certified Laboratories roster on the Drinking Water and Private Wells hub (retrieved 3 October 2026). About 30% of Idaho residents use private wells; private wells are not regulated like public systems. Call before you collect water. Test first.
